Ashtanga half primary series with Nick
Start the week right with a disciplined focus and a bit of fire found through Ashtanga!
In this class we will explore the first half of the Ashtanga primary series, focusing on standing and balance asanas.
For those with an Ashtanga practice, this will provide an opportunity to develop a deeper connection with the inner focus, with particular attention to drishti.
For those with a yoga practice yet new to Ashtanga, this is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in something new and perhaps find another passion!
As the Ashtanga practice is quite strong, I would advise those new to yoga to consider joining the Sunday night Hatha practice, or any of the other practices on offer through the Fincan.

Gentle Flow Yoga mit Edda

Eine sanfte Vinyasa-Stunde, mal mehr und mal weniger fließend- dynamisch mit unterschiedlichen Schwerpunkten. Die Verbindung von Bewegung und Atmung fördert die Wahrnehmung des eigenen Körpers. In Verbindung mit Pranayama und Meditation schaffen wir mehr innere Ruhe und Gelassenheit.

Wir werden den Körper durch leichte Dehnungen, Sonnengrüße und sanfte Flows aufwecken, um frisch und achtsam in den Tag zu beginnen.

Yoga Explore mit Ana

This is a creative hatha yoga class based around the six basic movement types: backbends, forward folds, twists, inversions, side angle stretches and balancing postures. I will guide you through a playful sequence of postures as well as relaxations, pranayama and meditation.

Our aim is not only to build strength and flexibility but to learn to move with deeper self-awareness, to meet our mental and physical edge with equanimity and to turn inwards, finding a sense of peace which we can take off the mat into our every-day lives.

This class is suitable for all levels

My background is in classic Hatha Yoga but I enjoy incorporating exercises from many yoga traditions. In the end what matters is not the type of yoga we practice but the openness and spirit of exploration we take to the study of well-being.

1 hour dedicated to your own inner reality.

Without distraction. Without expectation.

You don’t have to have a regular meditation practice to join us, everyone is welcome. This is a safe space for gently training inner stillness, encouraging the mind to slow down and saying hello to your true nature.

At the beginning of each session we will take some time to stretch and release the body before finding comfortable stillness in a seated or laying position.

Guided techniques and silence will follow.

CONTEMPORARY DANCE FOR BEGINNERS

Auf dem Boden rollen, rutschen, springen.. stopp!

Lass die Bewegung fließen, wechsle die Energie, balanciere und aus dem Gleichgewicht gehen. Folge der Musik, spüre dein Gewicht. Atme!

Contemporary Dance ist eine Weiterentwicklung und Synthese verschiedener Tanz- und Körpertechniken: Modern Dance, Improvisation, Release-Technik, Contact-Improvisation, Yoga-Elemente bilden die Basis dieser Klasse.

Die Klasse beginnt mit einem gründlichen Aufwärmen und Vorbereiten des Körpers: Dehnungs-, Kräftigungs-, Mobilisation- und Koordinationsübungen sowie Raum- und Gruppenbewusstsein bilden die erste Hälfte der Klasse.

Die zweite Hälfte der Klasse ist von kleinen Bewegungssequenzen und Improvisationsaufgaben innerhalb der Gruppe geprägt. Die Klasse ist so aufgebaut, dass man ohne besondere Vorkenntnisse mitmachen kann. Wenn du Lust zum Tanzen hast, ist das der richtige Kurs für dich!

  • Es dürfen im Raum 7 Teilnehmer*innen plus Trainer*in.

CLASS DESCRIPTION

Roll on the floor, slide, jump… stop!

Let the movement flow, change the energy, balance and off balance. Follow the music, feel your weight. Breath!

Contemporary Dance is an evolution and a synthesis of different dance and body techniques: modern dance, improvisation, release technique, contact improvisation, yoga elements are at the base of this class.

The class starts with a thorough warm up and preparation of the body: stretching, strengthening, mobilization and coordination exercises as well as space and group awareness build the first half of the class.

The second half of the class is characterized by small movement sequences and improvisation tasks within the group. The class is specifically built so that one can take part without any particular previous knowledge. If you feel like dancing, that´s the class for you!

(the class is thought in English or German, depending on the participants choice).

PARTICIPATION

  • 7 participants plus trainer are allowed in the room.
  • REGISTRATION: Reserve your place via Fitogram https://widget.fitogram.pro/pilates-im-fincan/?w=/list-view. Click on „Contemporary Dance for Beginners (vor Ort)“.
    If you are a member of UrbanSportsClub, you can register via the app.
    PAYMENT: via Fitogram you can bank transfer the fee directly (8,10,12 or 14 euros) or click on „Contemporary Dance vor Ort – cash“ and then arrange payment at the studio. *
  • You can come to Fincan if you bring either a negative corona test (not older than 24 hours), a proof of a complete immunisation (14 days after the 2nd vaccination) or a proof of a positive corona infection (not younger than 24 days and not older than 6 months).
  • Come with comfortable clothes (you are not allowed to use the dressing room).
  • Wear your FFP2 mask when you come in and go out. You do not need to wear a mask during dance classes.

DEEP YOGA mit Ana

This is an advanced class for those who want to take their yoga practice deeper, training peace of mind and physical strength.  It is not suitable for complete beginners. You don’t have to be an advanced practitioner of the asanas (no need to be able to stand on your head with your toes in your ears!) but you should be familiar with some basic pranayama exercises and the sun salutation, as these will not be explained in depth.

Fundamentally this class is an opportunity for all of us to research deeper into our own bodies and minds. The atmosphere is very focused and a high level of self-awareness and self-regulation is required.

As always this class will combine physical practice, breath work, relaxation and meditation.

Hatha Yoga with Nick
With a focus on steady, stable asanas and transitions, I offer a simple yet challenging practice in the Hatha tradition of yoga.
You can expect a practice with a strong focus on breath connecting balance with movement, or if the feeling in the room calls for a more relaxed and playful practice this will be explored, inviting intuitive movements and pauses throughout to find and express whatever is waiting beneath the surface.

Classes will combine mantra, warm ups, sun salutations, asanas, savasana, pranayama and meditation and run for approximately 90 minutes.
For those with experience, these classes provide the opportunity to deepen the inner journey, finding stability and stillness in asana.
For those new to the practice, these classes offer the chance to develop a strong basis in fundamentals on top of which you can develop.
